OMEX (hereinafter "the Firm") is a cryptocurrency exchange platform that provides its clients with the services to buy and sell cryptocurrency as well as make trade advertisements. The firm will seek to initiate the business relationship, and clients will join the firm with the completion of an online application form, which is required to be completed in full in order for the initial stages of opening an account to begin. The firm is committed to maintaining the highest standard of anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) measures. To this end, the firm is required to conduct customer due diligence either before commencing business or shortly thereafter, as well as establish an efficient compliance framework to protect the firm from being misused for money laundering, terrorist financing, or other illegal purposes.
Purpose of Policy
The aim of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF) Policy is to prevent and restrict the provision of the firm’s services for the purpose of legitimizing criminally obtained funds, as well as for the financing of terrorism. In summary, this policy is designed to define measures to prevent financial crime and scenarios whereby the firm is used to facilitate money laundering and terrorism financing, thus establishing a set of core principles to ensure customer due diligence, procedures for reporting suspicious transactions to the authorized body, procedures for collecting and storing data, as well as the terms and frequency of organization of staff training. In regards to preventing ML/TF, the firm is guided by the RA Law on Combating Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing (hereinafter Law), by the provisions of the 07.10.2017 No. 297-N decision of the Board of the RA Central Bank on Minimum Requirements to Reporting Entities in the Field of Preventing Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing, maintains the requirements of the relevant international standards (FATF 40 Recommendations), steadily pursues a duly performed consistent policy of combating money laundering and terrorism financing, and is guided by the "Know Your Customer" (KYC) principle.
